We believe that Afternoon Tea is something special. It should be more than just a few sandwiches and a factory produced slab of cake and a few other bits.
It should also be traditional, no buns or trendy breads and be served on a 3-tier stand. Scones must be as freshly made as possible with Roddas clotted cream.
But most important of all it should be an experience. Set aside 2 hours and let the conversation flow with your friends whilst we look after you.
Celebrate in style
From the moment you arrive at Josephine’s for your Afternoon Tea you know it is something special. You will be shown to your table where you will be presented with fruity fizz and canapes, unless you’re enjoying a Prosecco Afternoon Tea where you will enjoy a high quality Italian Prosecco with your canapes.
The Ambience

Take your time whilst we prepare your Afternoon Tea. Finger sandwiches freshly prepared with a variety of fillings. Crusts cut off, selection of brown and white bread and fillings vary daily – life isn’t fixed so neither are our sandwiches.
Your scones are made fresh every day to our own special recipe. Hand produced in small batches makes for better scones. Served with Rodda’s Clotted Cream, and Tiptree Strawberry Preserve, of course.

On your top plate tuck into an array of cakes and sweet treats. We have a range of over 50 different things we make so no two afternoon teas will be the same on different days. Quite often each Afternoon Tea is different even on the same table!
With over 30 quality loose leaf teas to compliment your experience, we guarantee you’ll find a tea to enjoy.
If you can’t finish everything, then we will happily provide you with a box to take your cakes home for you to enjoy later.

Dietary information
We can cater for Halal, Vegetarian, Dairy Free*, Vegan, Pescatarian and Gluten Free. We cannot offer Gluten Free plus Dairy Free. Please note that options are always limited for those with complex dietary requirements but we will always do our best.
Children
We do not offer a children’s Afternoon Tea and have very limited facilities for Children and extremely restricted access for pushchairs as priority is always for disabled access. Please ensure you tell as at time of booking so we can advise. Later bookings (3pm+) are more likely to be suitable.
